Day 66 - Project 365

The view from our balcony was unbelievably beautiful this morning! I could have sat there for hours watching the sun come up and the clouds shift.
Creation's beauty, time with some amazing young adults, reunions with old friends, meeting babies, conversations about the past, present and future.....it is alot to be thankful for....and I am.

Day 63 - Project 365

This is the view outside our patio door at our timeshare in Gatlinburg. We are on top of a mountain with great views of the Smokies! Waiting for Dan, Bre, Jessica, and Joe to arrive! The facilities are beautiful and we're looking forward to the weekend together!

Day 62 - Project 365

I feel like I need a huge bumper sticker on Calmesha that reads...."CAUTION - I BRAKE FOR SPRING!"

What a spectacular spring its been so far! Explosions of color everywhere! It's hard to keep my eyes on the road! It took a long time to decide what to use for picture of the day - so many to choose from! (that was alot of exclamation points!)

I get so excited in the morning to venture out from the Court for another day's hunt for beauty - what's changed overnight?! And I've realized that it's also a hunt for JOY - my word for this year - the beauty of creation brings my heart such an incredible amount of Joy!

("I totally get it now, mom! All those pictures of flowers and trees and birds and waterfalls and mountains you used to take? I get it now! The attempt to capture and keep the revelation in a 4 X 6 rectangle to take out and look at again and again.)

Years and years and years ago I wrote...."I must do a Spring Dance!" It's still true...I must do a Spring Dance!

Day 61 - Project 365

Perspective is an interesting thing. What a plain looking skinny tree our baby flowering plum is....our $10 bargain basement buy.....but get a little closer and you'll see the pale pink clusters of flowers climbing up gray speckled branches....edge a little nearer and notice the intricacy and beauty of each delicate blossom.
It's a good thing to remember about people and situations. To take the time to take a closer look. It's almost always worth it.

Day 60 - Project 365

I have promised myself not to miss a minute of Spring this year! The hunt for beauty is on! Yesterday these trees by the downtown post office were unassuming and today they had exploded in a cloud of white white white!

The Bradford Pears are making an early debut this year!
Welcome Back!

The clear blue sky is such a beautiful backdrop for the stately old buildings and these heralders of SPRING!

And I wondered if there were any flowering trees in my neighborhood cemetery - not many but a pleasant visit anyway. This is one of my favorite little statues and I had never noticed before today that he's holding a book/Bible in one hand and a shovel in the other. Love it!

Just one flowering tree right now - really pretty!
