Day 304 - Project 365/2013

A few more weeks of bouquets from the Court and then back we go to Bi Lo blooms!  I love this one!  Fun day after birthday surprise came in the mail today!  Carolann sends the best stuff and the very best thing of all was a long HANDWRITTEN note from my dear, dear friend!

Day 303 - Project 365/2013

Such a great birthday day start to finish!  I was really hoping for a clear night for our birthday picnic up at Sunset Rock but it was not meant to be.  It wasn't rainy and it was warm so we still had a good time and we can't wait to go back when it's clear because the valley is turning ORANGE!  It reminded me so much of when I went hang gliding for my 50th birthday over that same area and I can't wait for #60 when I can do that again!  

  More and more when I'm doing a walkabout with the Nikon and I am truly living in awareness, I hear and obey the voice that tells me to turn around and look at the scene behind me, where I've come from, for a new, fresh perspective of what I've passed. Tonight as we hiked down to the bluff I turned and saw this beautiful path of rock and leaves.  Today as I heard from so many people from my past and present I was reminded of the special part each of them has played in my story and my heart swelled with gratitude for the grace of it all!  Walk mindfully, look back, remember and believe that the Father is constantly guiding with His hand gently at my elbow....I am excited for this brand new year of life ahead and all that it will hold....I love Fresh Starts....let's go!!

I am a candle fanatic in a peaceful sort of way.......the scent and sight of them seem to calm people down and open up their hearts....and they cover a multitude of dust sightings! I love 'em!

Day 300 - Project 365/2013

A fun adventure before a busy crazy week!  We heard that the Annie Moses Band and Selah were going to be in Hendersonville, TN so after church and a bowl of soup we headed up towards Nashville.  I've heard about the Parthenon on Centennial Park for ages.  We stopped there on the way to the concert for awhile, went out for a great dinner at Black Eye Peas and then listened to a wonderful concert by two of our favorite groups!  

Day 299 - Project 365/2013

D.A. heard about the Chattajack31 happening on Saturday and he knew I would love to photograph something that cool!  It.was.awesome.  I never did see them actually take off because there was a LONG fog delay and my toes were starting to freeze!  But I got some awesome shots and shared the one above on the Explore Chattanooga FB page and today it was chosen as Photo of the Day!  Sometimes.....sometimes.....you're in the right place at the right time and you click that shutter right then!

Day 298 - Project 365/2013

Such a great day!  Pride of the Southland Band played in Miller Plaza on their way to the Alabama game (which the Big Orange is currently losing big time!) and then the BBBS Halloween Party at night!  We had such a good time with C & C!  They are so much fun and we are so grateful they still like hanging out with us old folks!

Fun night out with my Melissa friend to see "Seussical" at CCS presented by the middle schoolers.  They did an amazing job!  Loved it!  I had to leave the house before the Soddy team came for dinner/team meeting but Tess sent me the picture below of Houston and D.A.:-)

I love the Fall sky so much and the sunrises have been spectacular lately!  Finally had a day I could get up to Bluff View early before work and personally, intentionally, welcome the day!

PERFECT fall day!  After church and leftovers lunch we went for a walk on the Riverwalk!  What I love about autumn in the South is that it takes it's own sweet time about getting around to gettin' pretty! So fun to watch the slow, beautiful transformation! One of our favorite walks is to start at the Boathouse Restaurant and walk up to Bluff View - take in this view and walk back - love it!  We cleaned up one of the flower beds when we got home and then hunkered down:-)

I've always wanted to go to this since hearing about it and last night we went with our dear friends, the Haynes, and Bryant's parents.  Very interesting night!

Lots of different watercraft at the Chattanooga pier on Friday!  Replicas of the Nina and Pinta are here thru Sunday - would love to see them with their sails unfurled when they sail out on Monday!  I wonder if I ask at the ticket booth for touring them they would tell me what time that would be - I would show up with the Nikon in hand for sure!

Ahhhh.....the old "it's 10 pm and someone hasn't taken a POD yet!"  In other news this GREAT poster sized picture of Harbour Town came in the mail today - a freebie from Shutterfly! I ordered it while we were at the beach right after I'd taken the picture.   I love it! We both said that we wished we were there again!  The reflection of the boats and lighthouse is so fun!

Absolutely crazy day back at the office today......almost made me cry the contrast was so great between the peace of the beach and the chaos at the office.....glad I had packed a bag with shorts and sneakers so I could walk the Bridge and clear my head on the way home....beautiful color is creeping in all over!  Hosted the Soddy Daisy team for dinner at the Court before their meeting and had such a good time with those amazing leaders....the volunteer leaders are the ones who keep me at that crazy, wonderful, frustrating place:-)

Beautiful drive up to Pigeon Forge this morning!  Lots of low hanging clouds over the mountains - so pretty!  We tried a new restaurant for breakfast, Elvira's in Wears Valley, which was really good!  Big crowd at Dollywood but plenty of room for everyone there!  Great day together!
