Day 157 - Project 366

Hope had a kick off party to celebrate summer ministries and the three of us enjoyed it a bunch! This little one was loving her big wedge of watermelon:-)

A great crowd turned out from the neighborhood, our church, and other folks from Chatt!

This group was really fun to listen to and watch!

This was a tumbling, dunking group that entertained in the gym - we got in there just a little bit after they were finished but we talked to them and they did a few dunks for us!  Carmen took a turn on the trampoline and wowed them with her flipping abilities! She even dressed in the team uniform!

Beautiful night  of fun and fellowship at a place that has really impacted our lives! The UMT from Orland Park CRC helped serve dinner - missed seeing Nate D. who was back in IL with his newborn son but fun to reunite with Becky and Kate!

Day 156 - Project 366

Sherri needed some Mr. Dale time tonight so Carmen and I played with the little girls while they conversed.  Love this amazing young woman so much!

Day 155 - Project 366

Camp wrapped up Sunday morning - here's the group picture - praying for all of these kids and leaders! The Gospel was clearly and lovingly presented through the spoken Word, the Work Crew, the Program team, the leaders, and more! Praying that the seeds that were planted will produce much fruit for the Kingdom!

Day 154 - Project 366

Bryan and Jonathan were hilarious as usual as Program characters! This was the debut of their old man masks that are so realistic it's scary!  The kids loved all of the characters so much and the humor broke down walls and opened up opportunities for some great conversations.

Day 153 - Project 366

Day 3 included a rafting trip down the Hiwasee River which was filled with thrills and spills and tears and laughter - the day ended with a life sized version of Angry Birds!

Day 152 - Project 366

One part of Thursday's fun at camp was the Muck War - a layer of water balloons, flour and shaving cream - all out chaos that the kids and leaders loved!

Day 151 - Project 366

Catching up the blog this morning after a wonderful 5 days at Urban Wyldlife Camp at Vesper Point!  My job was to take pictures:-)  This is our wonderful Work Crew from YL Expeditions - a group of individuals who served all of us at camp so well in such a Christ like manner.  The blond haired lady in the second row from the top is a fellow Dutchman (Dutchwoman?) and we had so much fun playing Dutch bingo.  So fun to meet someone with a similar background who also has a heart for urban ministry! At one time her father was my brother's pastor in Alto, MI.  After camp she came home with me for a couple of hours before her brother from ATL came up to spend time with her.  Meeting her was just one of the many blessings of being at camp!
