Day 282 - Project 366

Someone has flipped the switch and it is FALL!  Perfect day for homemade chicken soup and pumpkin bread - the house smells delicious!  So many signs of autumn inside and out!

Day 281 - Project 366

Just a big ol' pile of balloons!  I was determined to see them take off this morning from a local high school and I couldn't find anyone who wanted to go along with me but I refused to let that stop me from a potential adventure.  The website said it was supposed to start at 7:30 AM and I was there right on time but at 8:15 AM there was not a balloon in sight!  I was texting D.A. that I was beginning to wonder if they were coming and all of a sudden a bunch of vans with trailers full of balloons pulled in!  Within 45 minutes all of them were launched with a basketful of excited passengers.  It was awesome to watch the whole process start to finish!

Day 280 - Project 366

Sometimes.....sometimes.....the world is so full of fun and beauty just for the sake of fun and beauty I think my heart will burst with delight! Tonight I twirled in a field of gigantic balloons that roared intermittently ~ eventually they bobbed and leaned and deflated into a long line of wrinkly, colorful nylon and were scooped up and stuffed in their sacks for the night.  Tomorrow......tomorrow.....if the wind and weather cooperate I will watch them fly free and untethered! And maybe next year I will be in one of them when they do!

These precious ladies were my partners in crime for the night - love them!

Day 279 - Project 366

Before packing up to head home we got up early to catch the sunrise and say goodbye to the beach for another six months.  It was pretty cloudy and the sunrise wasn't stunning but still very beautiful! So thankful for this wonderful week away and so thankful that we'll be back in March with a bunch of our loved ones to swim and sun and snack and ..........

Day 278 - Project 366

There is always always always something fun to see on a beach walk!

We explored the Coligny Beach area and a sweet passerby took our picture:-)



We went on a early evening hike (4.5 miles one way) to the area where we've seen tons of different waterfowl before but when we finally arrived there wasn't one single bird!  Disappointing but great exercise!  Got back to the condo in the pitch dark.  But there were very cool things to see along the way including this beautiful orange coral!

This pastel sunset scene was behind us as we headed back - so vast and amazing - all sky and sea!

Day 277 - Project 366

We've always wanted to tour Daufuskie Island! Today was the perfect day to do that as it was slightly overcast and a little cooler.  Beautiful boat ride over there with interesting conversation with fellow tourists.  Delicious lunch was provided in the tour too.  Very interesting!  Love this oyster house built behind a giant oak tree.  We're having such a good vacation!

Day 276 - Project 366

Another great day with just a bit of drama:-(  We went for a wonderful bike ride but at one point I lost my balance and went boom!  I'm o.k., just a little sore, but the paparazzi lens took the brunt of it and doesn't work:-(  Looks like the repair will be covered under warranty - thank you, Jesus! - but in the meantime no zoom lens for this girl.  Still, though, such a great day! Start to finish!
